Maintaining Professional Skills and Knowledge
Our dental practice is honored to have earned the following accreditations.
Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD)
Drs. LeBeau and Devasia have earned this prestigious designation. The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD Fellowship) was created more than 50 years ago to honor those who clearly recognize and embrace the professional obligation to remain current in their knowledge and skills in order to ensure delivery of the highest quality oral health care and to better serve patients. Fellowship in the AGD has evolved today into the most recognizable designation within the dental profession of commitment to continuing education, and it serves as a model by which to measure professional excellence. Only 6% of general dentists hold this designation.
American Dental Association (ADA)
The ADA, a member-run, nonprofit organization, works to advance the dental profession on the national, state and local level. With more than 157,000 members, the ADA is the nation’s largest dental association and the leading source of oral health-related information for dentists and their patients. The ADA is committed to its members, to improving the oral health of the public, and to helping its members succeed. By agreeing to abide by the ADA code, all ADA members adhere to high ethical standards of conduct.
Virginia Dental Association (VDA)
The goal of the nonprofit VDA is to continually improve the quality of dental treatment and education in the state of Virginia. The VDA is affiliated with the ADA and, in fact, members are typically tripartite members of the national ADA, the state VDA and a local dental society. The VDA is vitally interested in the maintenance of ethics and high standards of care within the dental profession. The ADA Principles of Ethics, the dentistry Code of Ethics, and the applicable federal and state criminal statutes govern members’ professional conduct.
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD)
The accreditation process of the AACD is the world’s most recognized cosmetic dentistry credentialing program; it provides an excellent opportunity for dentists and laboratory technicians to enhance their professional skills and knowledge in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Accreditation in AACD requires dedication to responsible patient care and to continuing education. The AACD encourages its members to participate in further education, interaction with like-minded colleagues, and opportunities for professional growth.
